What the site is for

The current collection contains 36 tools with English and Simplified Chinese interfaces. They cover point files, coordinate geometry, setting out, quality checks, map formats and terrain data. Each tool addresses a specific task: checking a file, calculating a stated relationship, or preparing a traceable output. You can use a tool without creating an account.

The tools work with files or values that you provide. They do not know your project's coordinate reference, approved design revision, instrument settings or acceptance rules unless you supply the relevant inputs. Clear input mapping, explicit units and a useful explanation of incomplete results matter as much as the final number.

How calculations are made reviewable

Tool pages explain their supported inputs, method, assumptions and limitations. The methodology page brings shared conventions together, including northing and easting, angle direction, units, missing elevations and comparison signs. The examples page supplies synthetic files with stated expected results, so you can repeat a check before trying a project file.

Automated regression tests cover calculations, parsers and rejected inputs. Browser checks cover the steps from choosing a file to reading and downloading a result. These checks provide evidence for the tested cases; they are not professional certification and do not establish accuracy for every possible input. If a result looks wrong, retain its source and settings and use the contact page to prepare a reproducible report.

Data stays under your control

Survey file parsing and calculation run in your browser. The tools do not upload the files you select to a calculation service. Optional presets store field or format settings in that browser, while file transfers between tools use a short-lived local connection between tabs. The privacy page explains the separate handling of page requests, preferences and any email you choose to send.

Downloaded files are copies on your device. Review them in the receiving application, retain the originals and record the transformation settings. This is particularly useful when a file can be read successfully but its axes, units or height reference are still wrong for the project.

Who operates and maintains the service

CogoKit is independently operated by an individual. For questions, corrections or privacy requests, use hi@cogokit.com. The site name describes the service; it is not a claim that a surveying firm or software manufacturer has approved it. References to Autodesk, Trimble or other products identify relevant file conventions and workflows, and do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Corrections should be supported by a small example, the tool settings, the expected result and the observed result. A new feature is worthwhile when it solves a distinct user task and can explain its method and output. Adding another page with a different keyword is not, by itself, a reason to add a tool.
